A WINDOW TO CHICAGO LIFE – COLORFUL VIEWS FROM A LOCAL ARTIST
A showcase of Chicago architecture. A constantly moving city. Architectural lines reveal a building’s utility. Reflecting the city skyline. Mirrored windows reveal the photographer. The city celebrates the Chicago Cubs’ historic season. A man walking among tree shadows. People watching, people eating. Chicago attracts runners from around the world. A runner waits to catch the L. A parking garage among the skyscrapers. Buildings reflect and reveal the city’s structure. Who ever heard of a moose blowing bubblegum? The city never sleeps. The contrast of dark and light. A view of Millennium Park. Waves and walking. The John Hancock building in the sunset. A view from outside the city. Yellow coat, red wall.«»
FINDING LIFE IN IMAGES – RICH FLANSBURG
"I see my photographs as tangible records of my times. Records of what is going on around me through the ever-moving flow of my life. It is life that I have experienced. At the very least, each photo is an image of the life I see at that moment.
I take the photo and I print the photo because the image means something to me. If the viewer takes some meaning from the image that is great. That makes me feel good, positive. However, I don’t expect my images to create meaning for anyone else. It is enough for me to take away my own feelings and meanings from each image."
