Spectral Decomposition of Acoustically Excited Nonreacting Cryogenic Coaxial Jets
Abstract:
In this paper, we detail the dynamics of nonreacting cryogenic coaxial nitrogen jets based on the availability of shadowgraph images sampled at 25 kHz that allows for the investigation of the spatial and temporal characteristics of large scale coherent features present in such flows. Spectral maps computed using the continuous wavelet transform are presented in which the occurrence of multiple frequential patterns can be noted in both space and time. The principal components of wavelet-filtered image sequences are also presented that allows for a lower-dimensional representation of energetically relevant coherent patterns in the dataset.
